SANDY GROUND, St. Martin – A lifeless body was discovered yesterday, Thursday, May 26, in the afternoon near “sand” restaurant on Sandy Beach close to the former Belle Creole Hôtel.

Captain Maignan of the St. Martin Gendarmerie confirmed to 721news that a male lifeless body had indeed been discovered.

He also stated that the identification process is still ongoing. The victim was not shot, and other signs of violence were not discovered on the body. Maignan reported to 721news that it is likely that the person drowned about 4 to 5 days ago.

The investigation continues to identify the body. The Gendarme is asking in case anyone missing a family member or friend please to contact them as soon as possible.
