MARIGOT – For four years, on the occasion of the International Woman’s Day, Avenir Sportif Club de Saint-Martin has organized, on March 12, the fourth edition of “La Saint Martinoise! 100% feminine race.”
The 2015 edition was a big hit, because about 250 women, runners and walkers, had participated in it. The club hopes that this year more women will answer the call, and would like to encourage them to practice a sports activity.
As in previous years, “La Saint Martinoise! 100% feminine race” will begin at 4:0pm, on the Marigot Waterfront for a circuit of 5km in the city. Three events will be proposed: 5km individual running race; 5km running race duo mother and daughter (from 12 years); and 5km individual walking race. A collective warm-up will be proposed from 3:15pm with the team of SXM fitness, which will also ensure stretching. While waiting, numerous prizes can be won during the tombola and let’s party activity with “Afro-Caribbean dance” performed by the Deyon choreographer of “Rhythm and Groove Dance Studio Association.”
This year, entries will take place in two stages, and prizes can be won upon registration. On March 5, from 9:30am to 6:30pm at the store Quicksilver Hope Estate, the first 100 women to register will receive a 25% discount valid from March 5 to 12. A similar prize will be offered on March 11, from 9:30am to 6:00pm, and March 12 from 9:30am to 1:00pm at the SPORTECH store.
Also new, on Sunday, March 6, the club will offer an opportunity to those who want to map the route. Meeting point at the departure line will be at 6:30am.
Participation is 10€ or $10. A medical certificate of less than three months will be required for the runners only.
