PHILIPSBURG – Preparations are in high gear for the 4th edition of the NAGICO 2 NAGICO (N2N) cycling race, which kicks off this Friday, March 18, on the Causeway Bridge at 7:00pm.
The annual tournament is in collaboration with the Velo Club de Grande Case (VCG) and consists of three consecutive days of exciting races.
This year’s event promises to be a thrilling experience as the line up so far includes over 60 professional cyclists, including international Tour De France riders. The first phase of the race begins at 7:30pm on the Causeway Bridge after a brief opening ceremony with a 2K time trial.
Following that on Saturday, March 19, will be an 80K race from Grand Case to Angel’s Insurance in French Quarter and a 120K race on Sunday, March 20, from the NAGICO Philipsburg Head Office to the NAGICO Branch office in Marigot.
In addition to the grand finale, a short race for children ages 5-13 years old, will be held on Sunday afternoon.
“We are extending an open invitation to everyone, to come out and support this event,” Marketing Manager for NAGICO Lisa Brown said. “We are very proud of this event because it showcases our local talent and in just the 4th edition of this race, we have international Tour De France cyclists, travelling to our island to participate in this event.”
Brown also issued an appeal to the public to exercise caution on the road especially during the races and to extend courtesy to the riders.
