GREAT BAY – The appeal against his 10-year sentence for his role in the Son Latino murders did not help Rodriguez Lionel Prosper Weinum, because yesterday the court sentenced him again to 10 years.
On December 9, 2012, 25-year old Antoine Whit and 21-year old Torres Cleman became the victims of a fight outside the Son Latino nightclub on Illidge Road.
The court found evidence that Weinum had retrieved a gun from his car and that he had given it to a man known only as Primo. This man first shot Whit and later beat Cleman to death with the butt of the gun. After the killings Primo fled in a car driven by Weinum.
The 36-year old Weinum received a 10-year sentence in the appeals court in September 2014, but he went in cassation to the Supreme Court. The case was sent back to the Common Court of Justice, where the defendant once more received the same sentence for being an accomplice to the crimes.
