Boasman visited by newly Justice Saleh


PHILIPSBURG – On Wednesday, February 15, Minister of Justice Rafael Boasman was paid a courtesy visit from the newly appointed President of the Joint Court of Justice of Aruba, Curaçao, St. Maarten, Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba, Justice Eunice Saleh.

Justice Eunice Saleh, the daughter of former Governor of the Netherlands Antilles and former President of the Joint Court of Justice Jaime Saleh, took over the reins from former President Evert Jan van der Poel effective January 1, 2017.

Justice Saleh is a graduate of the University of Leiden. In 1996 she began training as a judge at the Joint Court of Justice and in 1999 she became a member of the Court. She served as Vice President of the Court since 2009, charged with the management of the Courts of First Instance in Curaçao and Bonaire.

From 2011 to 2015 Justice Saleh served as a judge for the joint Court of Justice in Curaçao and Aruba, and from 2015 she served in the same capacity in St. Maarten and St. Eustatius.
