*** BREAKING NEWS *** Kathron Fortune escape from prison guards in Cayhill

PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten – The police force of St. Maarten sprang into action Monday afternoon to contain a situation with reported deadly possibilities.

It was reported that a prisoner Kathron Fortune who is being detained in Pointe Blanch and who was brought to the doctor in the district of Cay Hill managed to escape with a gun.

It is not clear at this moment how he acquired the gun.

The prisoner after leaving the offices of Dr. Paul de Wint, turned right in-front of the Econo Food Market and headed towards the L’Esperance Hotel. He then opted to turn in a side road to his right and headed inside the residential district of Cay Hill.

Prison Guards followed in hot pursuit and is reported to have fired shot in a bid to halt his escape. The prisoner got away and is currently still on the lose.

The police responded and sealed off the area while at the same time launching a man hunt and an in-depth investigation. The incident was reported at around 3:30pm Monday.

THE PRISONER NAME IS: Kathron Fortune, his age is 38. In May 2007 he was sentenced to 21 years for killing Ervin Margarita on May 11, 2006 in Rice Hill Estate.
