Arrindell was arrested on Monday, November 28, at his house in Pointe Blanche, after searches were carried out at Checkmate offices, and at the Port Authority. Arrindell is currently suspected of tax fraud, forgery, money laundering and illegal firearms possession.

On Tuesday morning, November 29, Arrindell visited the Judge of Instruction to inquire into violation of his rights, and whether his arrest followed procedure, and was done according to the law. However, the Judge of Instruction deemed his arrest and detention lawful. His detention was extended by 8 more days.

Now the prosecution team is proceeding to transport him to Curaçao for further questioning in the “Emerald” case.
