NEW YORK – Over 200 representatives of news organizations, journalists and member state delegates came together in New York to discuss measures to strengthen the safety of journalists worldwide and fight impunity on Friday, February 5.
Brechtje van de Moosdijk (RTL news) and Peter ter Velde (NOS news), both from Dutch news organizations, participated in the panel discussions.
Albana Shala, President of UNESCO’s International Programme for the development of Communication, delivered one of the closing speeches.
Christiane Amanpour, Chief International Correspondent for CNN, and UNESCO’s goodwill ambassador for safety of journalists, moderated a high level panel discussion.
