Elshot concerned that teacher salary scales will not be completed by new school year.

PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten – The Windward Islands Teachers Union (WITU) is hopeful that the matter of teacher scales will be finally addressed and completed in time for the start of the 2016-2017 school year.

There will also be a request for the re-evaluation of the current scales.

President of the WITU Claire Elshot has requested a meeting with the Minister of Education the Honorable Silveria Jacobs to discuss this and other areas of interest within education.

Elshot also stated that other concerns centers around that of special education.
