DUTCH QUARTER, Sint Maarten — Lower Princes Quarter – The kids of the I Can Foundation had a joyful visit Tuesday, December 15th in the afternoon when the New Life of Doris Foundation and Santa’s Helpers showed up and put a smile on their faces. “The I Can Foundation is a foster home that offers living accommodation for more than 20 children from ages 0 till 13, who have been victims of neglect, abuse or other social issues.
Next year we will celebrate 20years of existence” says Ms. Jane Canes, Manager of the Foundation. Every year, the New Life of Doris Foundation gives schools supplies to the less fortunate and underprivileged children in St. Maarten and other Caribbean island. There is definitely much need everywhere and it’s always good to give back to our community especially during festive times.” said Leonor Heyliger, President of New Life of Doris Foundation.
The Foundation along with Santa’s Helpers distributed Schools supplies, Christmas Candy and Free Admittance for all the children of the Foundation to experience the First Christmas Village that will take place at the Festival Village this coming Saturday, December 19th and Sunday, December 20th. The kids will have full access to the games and treats at the Christmas Village. Santa Clause will make an appearance at the Christmas Village and private businesses as well as individuals are encouraged to donate a toy for these kids before Saturday, December 19th, 2015.
