IMA Donates ANG 15000 to “The Gamali Benjamin Foundation for injured or fallen uniformed personnel”

PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten — On the occasion of the 67th Republic Day of India, (IMA) Indian Merchants Association of Sint Maarten supports “The Gamali Benjamin Foundation for injured or fallen uniformed personnel” in memory of Late Benji who was our hero…he laid down his life in the line of duty to protect the citizens.

Benji was a liked and respected by all the merchants in front and backstreet, his legacy was of a person who was very helping , understanding, friendly to merchants and at the same time staunchly committed to his Duty.

The Indian Business Owners across the board showed their spontaneous support to this foundation, which along with Benji represents all uniformed personnel injured or
fallen in the line of Duty.

Given the increase in violent crime on our island it is of utmost importance that these uniformed personnel who fight the crime head on have the support of such foundation.

Some of our members had made direct contributions to Gamali Foundation since last year. IMA conducted a collection drive soon after the Benji Foundation was formalised recently. These funds were collected from entire group of Indian Merchants solely for the benefit, betterment and education of Late Benji’s Son along with other uniformed personnel.

We are happy and honoured on this day as we are all celebrating the Republic day of India, that we are contributing ANG 15000.00 towards this foundation which represents the interest of all uniformed personnel.

Indian Business Community is unanimously committed to causes such as these which are for the betterment of Sint Maarten community as a whole.
