PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten – On Wednesday evening the police was on the hunt for a man who is suspected of attacking an elderly lady with a knife, seriously injuring her in the face and back with stab strikes. The face of the female victim was also heavy swollen after the attack.
Police spokesman Chief Inspector Ricardo Henson confirmed the incident but stated that they are currently on the lookout for the suspect and that more information will be provided later.
We have however learnt that the attack took place on the Tassel road , a side road of Zagersgut road minutes before 6pm on Wednesday and that the suspect is a possible mental patient who was apparently trying to take possession of a vehicle.
UPDATE: Suspect was arrested around 10:00 pm Wednesday night.
