PHILIPSBURG – “Nagico Insurances is very proud to announce that our very own, Chief Strategy and Risk Officer Kyria Ali, has been recognized internationally for excellence in the Compliance realm by C5,” a release stated.
C5’s Women in Compliance Awards recognises and celebrates the achievements that female compliance professionals make every day in the world of compliance and business. The Awards embody the very best initiatives, individuals and teams, bringing into sharp focus the united efforts of this innovative and dynamic sector.
After a rigorous and independent review process conducted by a panel of 43 judges spread across the globe, Ali has been shortlisted as one of the finalists in the category of Chief Compliance Officer, Rest of the World.
In addition, as a result of her leadership, Nagico Insurances, Ali and her team have also been shortlisted as a finalist in the category of In-house Compliance Team of the Year, Rest of the World. This is no small feat. Ali’s and Nagico Insurances’ accomplishments are significant. “In the categories mentioned we are up against a number of internationally known corporate giants such as Barclays, Oshkosh, GE Capital, Whirlpool, Tesco and Transocean, to name a few,” the release continued.
The Board of Directors, Chairman and Executive Management congratulated Ali on this outstanding accolade. “Nagico Insurances is proud to have Ms. Ali in its team. Ms. Ali has propelled Nagico forward as a leader in the areas of Governance, Enterprise Risk Management and Compliance. She is always solutions driven and understands the balance of business and compliance; a unique skill. She has developed a super team, which shares this very mindset and together they have navigated Nagico exceptionally well through the complex web of regulations it faces within the 21 islands from which it operates, while at the same time implementing various best practices,” Chairman Amjad said.
Now in its fourth year, the Women in Compliance Awards evening has established itself as a highlight of the compliance year, with over 300 compliance professionals in attendance each year from across the globe. On March 30, in London, England, the winners will be announced and their work recognized and celebrated.
“It is truly an honour to be recognized on such a grand scale for my work, but it is even more gratifying and humbling to be able to share this with my team. When I set out each day, I have one objective in mind and that is to add value. The compliance function is seen by many in a negative light; as a hindrance and cost to the business. To succeed in this role therefore requires resolve, commitment, innovation, an appetite for challenges and a willingness to drive change. I am immensely proud of my team, the value we have added together to Nagico and consider it a privilege to be ranked equal to such major global corporations,” Ali stated.
