Police chase resulted in traffic accident.

PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten –– The Police traffic Department is presently investigating a traffic accident which took place on Sunday March 27th (Easter Sunday) in the Belvedere area just before the border between the Dutch and the French side of the island involving a police vehicle with license plate L-47.
The police officers who were chasing a red vehicle with an expired license plate lost control, after they were forced off the road by this vehicle.
As a result hereof the police vehicle ended up severely damage and could not continue driving. The suspect vehicle continued on to the French Side.
The paramedics were also on the scene and transported the officers to the hospital to be checked. The officers suffered no internal or external injuries and stated that they felt slight pain in their arms due to the severe impact.
As more details of this investigation become available these will be released.
