Port St. Maarten dredges tender dock area next to Simpson Bay Police Station for tourist season

PORT ST. MAARTEN – The Simpson Bay Lagoon Authority, a company of Port St. Maarten Group of Companies, has completed dredging of the area next to the dinghy/mega yacht tender pier in Simpson Bay next to the Simpson Bay Police Sub Station.

The basin area in front of the dock was dredged using an excavator to remove sedimentation from the bottom in order for the large mega yacht tenders to be able to dock without any problems.

With the tourist season now underway, the dinghy/mega yacht tender pier will be very busy for the next six months as the aforementioned dock handles business from the aforementioned to transact and handle business with the Lagoon Authority Office and the Office of Immigration and Border Protection Service.

The Lagoon Authority is also carrying out some paint works on the Simpson Bay Bridge during the evening hours after rush hour traffic as part of its preventative maintenance program.

The yachting and mega-yacht sector is one of the pillars of the national economy generating millions in income and providing employment for many and income for the public treasury.
