PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten — Prime Minister William Marlin and the Council of Ministers met today with Minister Plasterk and his Dutch delegation for an introductory meeting.
Later in the day, Prime Minister William Marlin met with Minister Plasterk, Minister of Justice Edson G. Kirindongo and Minister of Finance Richard Gibson Sr. to discuss the following 3 topics:
Intergrity Chamber: The Council of Ministers are currently waiting on the decision of the constitutional court, so they may proceed.
2016 Budget: The budget has been sent to Parliament on Friday via the Governnor, prior to the deadline of January 31st. The council of Ministers are awaiting the advice from the CFT for any comments or remarks they may have.
Discussions on Justice: The support promised to St.Maarten was discussed, details are currently being worked on and it is therefore work in progress. The main concern of the Minister of Justice is how the budget will be allocated to benefit the Police Force of Sint Maarten.
