ANGUILLA — The Commissioner of Police of the Royal Anguilla Police Force Mr. Paul Morrison has announced the promotion of Sgt. Chrispen Gumbs to the rank of Inspector of Police within the Royal Anguilla Police Force.

Insp. Gumbs who joined the RAPF in July of 1990 will now be responsible for Training and Policy Development in addition to his present role of Public and Media Relations Officer.

In announcing the promotion Commissioner of Police, Paul Morrison said, “I am delighted to be promoting Sgt. Gumbs to the rank of Inspector of Police with responsibility for Training and Policy Development in the RAPF.  He will continue to function as the Public and Media Relations Officer in the interim.  Insp. Gumbs has proven himself over the years to be a very hard working and dedicated officer.  Training and the development of staff is one of my key priorities and I know Chrispen will be a huge asset to the force in this area.”

In accepting the new responsibility Insp. Gumbs said, “I am indeed happy to be ascending to the rank of Inspector and taking on these new responsibilities.  I look forward to the challenges they will bring and the opportunity to use my talent and skills in assisting with the development of the RAPF.”

Insp. Gumbs who worked in several departments of the Royal Anguilla Police Force also worked as the Training Officer for some eight years during the period 1999 to 2007.

His promotion was made effective Monday 25th April, 2016.
