George Pelgrim is expanding the reach of his company’s philanthropy by, once again, giving back to the community. Mr. Pelgrim donated the labour, parts and expertise of the St. Maarten Shipping & Stevedoring team for the repair of K1 Britannia’s flat bed truck. This truck is used on K1’s food drive project.
The COVID-19 pandemic has hit thousands of families on our island and the need for the basic necessity of food is a struggle for many. The weekly food drive is a way to support these families. Started in June 2020, these drives still go on today.
“The truck came to us in pretty bad shape but having expert mechanics, welders and body repair specialists at hand meant that we could guarantee K1’s truck would not only look great but be safe and sound to drive on such important humanitarian projects”, said George Pelgrim.
Mr. Pelgrim continued, “A complete engine diagnostics and full service was performed along with an A/C condenser and fan replacement, full body repair and rust proof & spray job. The wooden flat bed was also replaced with steel plates and a bed lining was installed”.
George Pelgrim is proud to support K1 Britannia’s efforts in helping the St. Maarten community year after year. If you are interested in volunteering with K1 Britannia, please visit k1britanniafoundation.org
