The project originated from a reflection by Emy Péchaud, secretary of the AEP and director of Karibuni. During her visits to Pinel with his 4-year-old sonHe wondered about the abandoned waste by some visitors. With the association, they then thought of to create something to raise awareness among younger people, but also their parents“If the child is involved, the parents are automatically involved,” she explains. Since the beginning of the year, the AEP, which brings together the restaurant owners, the shop, and the ferrymen of the islet, has been working with the Nature Reserve and the Coastal Conservancy to bring this idea to life.

In addition to presenting certain species, the brochure offers a Pinel planMore does not impose a routeso that everyone can explore the islet at their own pace. To go further, pliers and small bags are made available free of charge visitors so that they can participate in waste collection without touching them directly.

Fully funded thanks to voluntary support from several companiesincluding Office Supplies, Grand Maison, Go Print and Rapido Print, the brochure was printed in 1.000 copies…for now. It's also available on the islet, in restaurants, and at the shop. A lovely way to introduce children to Pinel while inspiring them to take care of it. _DR
