PHILIPSBURG: As Sint Maarten continues to expect a lot of rain and storm gusts of wind, the public is urged to remain indoors as tropical storm Fiona can still cause damage due to flooding. The mobility of law enforcement officers and emergency workers is important for the rendering of assistance to those in need. As such, public roads must be free of traffic, for the first responders to execute their work effectively. All persons who must be out on the road for urgent reasons must identify themselves with a valid proof of identity.
The Honorable Minister of Justice Anna E. Richardson hereby requests the cooperation of the public to ensure their safety. The clear skies should not be underestimated as the storm has not yet passed Sint Maarten and persons venturing out could be caught in a flash flood.
