The Territorial Police of Saint-Martin has implemented the electronic police report (PVE), a digital system that replaces the traditional paper fine sticker placed on vehicles. Thanks to portable digital devices, officers can now record traffic violations. The notice of violation is then automatically issued by the National Processing Center in Rennes and sent to the registered owner’s home. An information document can also be left on the windshield.

The PVE helps simplify the handling of violations, reduce administrative errors, and make paying or contesting fines easier. Its implementation required an agreement with the National Agency for Automated Processing of Offenses (ANTAI) and the training of Territorial Police officers.

The system also allows fines to be issued to foreign vehicles driving in the French part, especially those registered in In Sint Maarten, Saint-Barthélemy, and several European countries. Users can check their file, pay their fine, or contest a ticket on the ANTAI website: https://www.antai.gouv.fr/

Any contestation must be submitted within 45 days following the notice. The Collectivity reminds drivers of the importance of respecting road safety rules to reduce violations and risks on the territory's roads.
