Following the inauguration of the inclusive park "Mahalia Viotty", the Collectivity presented the next phase of the Marigot waterfront development and beautification project. The creation of 68 parking spaces for cars and one space reserved for people with reduced mobility (PRM) constitutes the first stage of this program.

The project now includes the creation of a pedestrian walkway along the seafront, next to the parking lot, to improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists and enhance site accessibility. It also includes a pétanque court to promote leisure and social activities, a five-a-side mini-football pitch, a street workout area at the end of the seafront, and a space for a food truck, subject to obtaining a temporary occupancy permit.

According to Jean-Mathieu Derville, project manager at the Quality of Life Department, the work should begin "at the end of the year." While the overall cost of these new developments has not yet been finalized, the future pedestrian zone is, at this stage, estimated at just under €300.000, he specified. The new parking spaces, created as part of this first phase, represented an investment of €296.981. _DR
