Minister Plenipotentiary of Sint Maarten, Drs. Gracita R. Arrindell, recently met with State Secretary for Digital Economy and Sovereignty, Willemijn Aerdts for an introductory meeting at the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
State Secretary Aerdts is holding a series of separate meetings with Ministers Plenipotentiary of Aruba, Curaçao and Sint Maarten to discuss matters of mutual interest.
The discussions centred on developments in digitalisation, economic cooperation and future modalities for collaboration.
Particular attention was given to Sint Maarten’s efforts in areas such as digital identity, the alignment of government systems, cyber security and resilience, with a view to further strengthen public-sector standards and service delivery.
Both sides underscored the value of continued dialogue, and where appropriate the exchange of knowledge and experiences. The meeting provided an initial opportunity to become acquainted and to identify areas for further discussion within the broader cooperation between Sint Maarten and the Netherlands.
Follow-up discussions are expected to take place in the coming months.
