PHILIPSBURG – An armed robbery took place on Front Street, in front of the entrance to a nearby hotel at around 6.50 pm yesterday (October 22, 2025).
A dark sedan stopped on Front Street at the entrance to a nearby hotel and a young man with a white T-shirt covering his face and wearing a black baseball cap stepped out of the backseat and pointed a handgun to a security guard and another man wearing a red cap who were seen chatting curbside.
The assailant proceeded to rob one of the men and the security guard is seen walking away from the incident inside the entrance alley to a nearby hotel. A struggle ensues and the assailant seems to run off with belongings of the male victim, jumped back into the waiting sedan car which sped off.
Authorities are currently investigating a string of armed robberies.
