SXM AIRPORT--Air Caraïbes has resumed its direct service between Paris-Orly (ORY) and Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM), with the first flight operating on Friday, December 12, 2025. The relaunch restores a major connection between St. Maarten and mainland France after a three-year suspension.

Air Caraïbes is scheduled to operate the Paris-Orly (ORY) to Princess Juliana (SXM) route three times per week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Upon arrival at Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM), Air Caraïbes and its officials received a ceremonial welcome marked by a red carpet reception and a ribbon cutting.

The airline was greeted by PJIAE CEO Michael Cleaver, alongside government officials from French St. Maarten and representatives of the French Tourist Office.

The ceremony underscored the importance of the route’s return and the shared commitment to strengthening airlift between Paris and St. Maarten.

Air Caraïbes previously halted the route in December 2022, citing operational and cost pressures, including fuel-related challenges. With improved market conditions and renewed demand for leisure and business travel, the airline is returning to an air corridor viewed as strategically important for tourism, commerce, and regional connectivity.

The revived service adds capacity and choice on the Paris to St. Maarten market, which has largely been served via Paris-Charles de Gaulle in recent years. With three weekly nonstop flights from Paris-Orly, Air Caraïbes is positioning the route as a competitive option for travelers, while supporting broader efforts to strengthen airlift into St. Maarten during the high season.

The return of this direct link is expected to support visitor arrivals and business travel, while reinforcing St. Maarten’s role as a regional hub for onward connections across the northeastern Caribbean.
