
Le Lions Club Île de Saint-Martin Oualichi On June 9th, the Lions Club International held the final of its spelling bee competition for 6th grade students at the Mont des Accords middle school. This initiative, part of the major causes championed by Lions Club International, aims to promote early literacy while also celebrating academic success among young people.
In total, forty middle school students participated in this final and were rewarded for their involvement. The grand winner of this 2026 edition is Barthelemy Scott, who distinguished himself during the competition.
The club also wished to thank the administration of the Mont des Accords college as well as the many partners who supported the event: the La Samanna hotel, the JLCA coastal walking club, the Marigot badminton club, the Friar’s Bay kayak base, the Colombier Beach Tennis Club, Dauphin Telecom, Motorworld and Mr Cool.
The date has already been set for the 2027 edition.
Lions Club belote tournament on June 27th
The association will organize its 3rd belote tournament on Saturday, June 27th, starting at 19pm in the multipurpose room of the Daniella Jeffry vocational high school, in Concordia.
Open to all, this friendly gathering will allow participants to share an evening filled with good cheer and solidarity. The funds raised will contribute to financing the club’s future community service projects.
