TRINIDAD & TOBAGO--Intercontinental Aviation Enterprise (IAE), represented by Bud Slabbert of CARIBAVIA Summit, on Monday announced that Captain Alicia Hackshaw, MSc., Aviation Strategy & Innovation Advisor and Principal of Aeroman Aviation Consultants Ltd, has been formally authorized to engage with the Government of Trinidad & Tobago and relevant stakeholders to advance plans for the establishment of a new aviation academy of higher learning in the country. Official meetings are scheduled to begin this week.
This development follows Ms. Hackshaw’s presentation at the CARIBAVIA Summit & Retreat in St. Barth, during which she addressed “The Importance of Aviation Investment in the Caribbean to Foster Economic Growth and Development”. Her involvement in the project is being seen as a direct outcome of the connections and visibility gained there.
The proposed investment is estimated at over US$30 million, with projected benefits including economic inflows of approximately US$3 million into the local economy through student housing, food services, and related support sectors.
