It is with great emotion that I present my deepest and sincere condolences to the family of Alfonso Blijden.
I met Alfonso when he was already ill. He participated actively and passionately in the development of my book of old photographs of Saint-Martin.
I visited him many times with great pleasure and he confided to me that he was very happy with these hours of work, research and discussion which took him out of his condition for a short time.
Thank you Alfonso for your kindness, your alert and curious spirit, your support, your generosity, your courage and your eternal positivity during these long months of illness.
I will forever keep wonderful memories of our meeting.
