ENVIRONMENT 3m³ of waste collected in Baie Nettlé | FAXINFO

They were few in number, but their determination made all the difference. On the occasion of the European Waste Reduction Week, the volunteers of Clean St Martin have mobilized on the beach of Anse des Sables, a site particularly exposed to ocean currents.
The participants extracted a An impressive volume of rubbishPlastics of all kinds (bags, bottles, flasks, disposable packaging) made up the bulk of the waste collected. In addition, there were numerous glass bottles, sheet metal, and several pieces of construction timber, which are problematic because they are often chemically treated. In total, nearly 3m³ of waste were collected, sorted and bagged.
Some of the materials were immediately transported to the sorting stations Plastic, glass, and aluminum cans were thus able to be directed to the correct recycling streams. A concrete way to limit the environmental impact of this waste who, without intervention, would have continued drifting in the bay. To conclude this morning of civic engagement and to mark the 7 years of the associationClean St Martin offered a brunch to all participants.
