HEALTH: Lions Clubs of Saint-Martin mobilize for World Diabetes Day | FAXINFO

On the occasion of World Diabetes Day, celebrated every year on November 14, the Lions Clubs of Saint Martin are organizing, this Saturday, November 16, at Howell Center, a morning dedicated to information and screening for this disease, in collaboration with health professionals.

Diabetes affects nearly one in two families in Saint-Martin, making prevention and screening top priorities. In order to raise awareness among the population, several actions will be carried out this Saturday, November 16, in particular as part of the mobilization of the Lions Club Oualichi and the Lions Club Fort Louis  who are actively working against this public health scourge. On the program: a morning of information on the disease and free screening, which will be held at Howell Center, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., with the presence of doctors Belhassen and Famy and nurses in an atmosphere of solidarity and exchange.

The aim of these actions is to provide the population with key information on the prevention, management and support of people with diabetes, in order to effectively combat the progression of the disease and improve the quality of life of patients. _AF
