BELVEDERE- – The St. Maarten Hockey Club (SMHC) is excited to announce that ex Dutch National Hockey Team players and Olympic Gold medallists Kim Lammers and Sophie Polkamp will conduct a Youth Hockey Clinic on Saturday from 3:00 to 4.30pm at the Cruijff Court in Belvedere.
“We are incredibly excited and honoured to host these top hockey players and have them provide the interested youth of St. Maarten a free hockey training session this Saturday”, says Paul Dijkhoffz from the SMHC. “They are also coming for the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta and together with John Leone, commercial director of ILTT, we were able to work out a win-win situation. It could not have been possible without the help of our sponsors: Heineken, KLM, Holland House Hotel, Oyster Bay Beach Resort, PriceWaterhouseCoopers and The Daily Herald”, stated Dijkhoffz.
“Any interested children aged 5-14 years can reserve a space for the Youth Training by sending an email to email@example.com. Space is limited so first come, first serve:, concluded Dijkhoffz.
Lammers and Polkamp are looking forward to visiting the island. “We are happy to come to St. Maarten and have the opportunity to do the clinic while also being part of the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta”, says Polkamp.
Lammers (35) is a former forward, a real poacher, who has two Dutch top score titles and has dozens of medals including an Olympic Gold medal at London 2012. She also won two World Cups and four European Championships and four Champions Trophies with the Women’s Dutch National Hockey Team.
