The Collectivity focusses on emloyment in neighborhoods

MARIGOT: The Collectivité de Saint-Martin is launching the operation “La Collectivité au cœur des quartiers”. This local action aims to create links with people who are far from employment and to deploy integration actions, by going directly to the heart of the neighborhoods to meet the citizens. It is in line with the commitments of the RSM-A majority to strengthen social cohesion on the territory.

The first edition took place in Colombier on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, in the presence of Senator Annick Pétrus and Territorial Councillor Martine Beldor, in charge of training, apprenticeship, employment and integration. 17 young people were present and were able to receive information and follow-up.

In its approach, the Collectivité has enlisted the support of the Pôle Emploi, the Mission locale, the insertion structures EME and Tout est Vert and the organization VEDA Formation, which presented their support offers to the public. The objective of this public initiative is to remove the obstacles to integration and to find solutions that meet the needs of people with professional difficulties.

During the meeting with the young people of Colombier, the Collectivité spread a message of hope. Solutions exist and the institution is there to present them and allow people wishing to reintegrate to benefit from them. The Collectivité will mobilize all the means and devices (vocational training, various aids, integration clauses in public contracts, integration through economic activity in partnership with the State) in order to meet the needs.

This approach will be deployed in all of Saint-Martin’s neighborhoods. The next meeting will be held in November in Quartier d’Orléans. The schedule and dates of the meetings will be published later.

The Collectivité de Saint-Martin would like to thank the Pôle Emploi represented by Jasmine Sally  (IAE referent), the Mission Locale represented by its Director Maggy Gumbs, the integration company EME SXM represented by Hubert Gorizia (Operations Manager), the integration company Tout est Vert represented by its manager Wilnick Desormaux and VEDA Formation represented by Mr. Johan Nagapin (Director) and Jean-Marc Lancastre (Pedagogical Manager). Our thanks also go to Mrs. Vernicia Brooks of the Colombier Nature Valley association who welcomed us.
