The SMART show (St. Maarten/St. Martin Annual Regional Trade ShowThe event was officially launched Monday evening at the Grand Case Beach Club for its 18th edition. Bringing together tourism professionals, buyers and partners from across the Caribbean, the event takes place from June 22nd to 26th on both sides of the island.
Organized by the tourism offices of Saint-Martin and Sint Maarten, the Tourism Club, and the St. Maarten Hospitality and Trade Association, SMART has become a key event for industry professionals. The opening ceremony set the tone for a week focused on networking and cooperation. Cultural activities and informal meetings punctuated the evening.
During their speeches, the Minister of Tourism of Sint Maarten, Grisha Heyliger-Marten, and the President of the Saint-Martin Tourist Office, Valérie Damaseau, emphasized the importance of regional partnerships, cultural authenticity and the development of sustainable tourism in the Caribbean: “Saint-Martin is a land of encounters”.
After two days dedicated to business meetings, the program will shift to excursions and exploration of the neighboring islands on Thursday and Friday. This itinerary is designed to strengthen networking and promote the destination’s diverse offerings to international markets.
