SINT MAARTEN (PHILIPSBURG) – The last two months, the world has been turned upside down and everything that you knew as normal changed right before your eyes and without anyone being able to control these events, Kerai Kreative Style Kenty Lichtenberg said in a media statement on Wednesday.
That change carries the name of COVID-19. A pandemic that has taken over and that has claimed thousands of deaths, it is certainly not a virus to be taken lightly, hence why our world leaders have enforced various shut down with the objective of flattening that curve.
Having said this, the “new normal” of home schooling, working remotely, virtual parties and social distancing are what will be part of our lives for the next coming months. The greatest challenge as a society is that fear has also become part of that new normal and we must learn to rise above this in order to continue functioning.
This lockdown was the result of a lot of negative impact, in terms of lives lost, overworked front liners, weakened economies and many unpredictable uncertainties. Putting that reality aside, it has been a period where you have once again been granted “the gift of time”. The reason I use that terminology is because during this same period, we as humanity have found the opportunity to bond more with our immediate families, to focus on our personal development, to lend a helping hand, to recharge our batteries and ultimately we were forced to slow down and realize that everything that was “urgent” could now wait.
“The main reason why I have created this blogging platform, it to educate and empower women to explore their full potential…yes even during a crisis,” says Kenty Lichtenberg, founder of Kerai Kreative Style. “Blogging has enable me to connect across the globe with amazing people and experience the true meaning of sisterhood. I was more than happy to have been able to be a facilitator for a series of Webinars on Facebook LIVE / Zoom Meetings that gave our women something to look forward to and learning at the same time.
On April 25th we hosted the first ever “Caribbean Tribe Talks”. A conversation between 8 women, in 5 different countries (St. Maarten, Curaҫao, Suriname, Trinidad & The United Kingdom), with various skills and their own journey. We were all eager to share our experiences with the world during COVID19 and provide some helpful tips that could guide you in the area of finance, entrepreneurship, life coaching, legal advice etc. The most important message was to highlight that you always need to be part of a “tribe” that can uplift and support you. This Webinar was endorsed by Aussie Hair in partnership with SWEAT, which is under the Kalaboom Events umbrella, a local multimedia platform that always brings forward quality and innovative productions, while taking corporate responsibility very serious and led by one of our very own local and multi-talented entrepreneurs ‘’ Skelet ”. This Webinar was viewed by over three thousand people and we were really proud to have been able to be part of that unique virtual experience.
On April 30th, we partnered up with The Power Agency & Micromentor / Bacardi and were able to facilitate a mentoring Webinar that focus on the importance of Branding. We were able to share tips and the essence of re positioning your brand during and after a crisis. It was important to highlight that your brand, is your company’s DNA and you have to treat it as such.
This coming May 9th, is the 3rd in this series of Webinars via Instagram LIVE: “Real Talk”, where we will be discussing the importance of relationships and sexual behavior during COVID19. After all, we have been home for over 6 weeks with our partners, and it must have had all kinds of impacts on our lives and a new outlook as to what we appreciate the most from each other. I am happy to have on board of this discussion: Curaçao-native Giullitta Anthony, has spent much of her career living in the Netherlands while working as a psychologist. She has worked with adults and children in a variety of scenarios, from rehabilitation to full psychiatry.
Giullitta has conducted research on the female orgasm and sexual assertiveness, as well as sexual economics. She’s hosted a significant number of sexual education workshops throughout her career and we look forward to her sharing her expertise with us. This coming Saturday make sure that you tune in at 08.30 PM – 09.30 PM for a dose of “Real Talk”.
