SINT MAARTEN (SIMPSON BAY) – On Thursday May 30th, Buccaneer Beach Bar and Be The Change Foundation hosted vendors from all over the island for a flea market swap meet event where registered persons were able to sell their used housewares, clothing, toys and more.
Registrants paid a small donation fee of $10 per meter for their space to the Foundation and were able to keep whatever profits made from selling their items. Buccaneer Beach Bar kindly donated the space for the fundraiser event. Be The Change raised a total of $150USD from the registration fees collected, which will go towards their annual spotlight project of the month program.
“Although the cloudy weather scared some persons off from participating in the event, it was still a great success and many persons have asked us to host another flea market event in the near future. We are so thankful for Buccaneer Beach Bar’s kind donation of the venue and appreciate their willingness to host various family-friendly events for the community,” said President Melanie Choisy.
