SINT MAARTEN (PHILIPSBURG) - Independent Member of Parliament (MP) Christophe Emmanuel has issued an invitation to the general public to attend the launch of his new political party on Monday, October 10. The Nation, Opportunity, Wealth (N.O.W) party will be introduced to the public at the John Larmonie Center in Philipsburg from 6pm to 9pm.

The event is not a party congress where a board is elected, party leader chosen and members are recognized. According to MP Emmanuel the official party congress will come after. “The launch on Monday is simply to introduce the party organization to the public. It is an open invitation to everyone,” Emmanuel said.

“Many have questioned if the N.O.W is a real movement or a hopeful dream. I can assure everyone that the party and the dedicated organization behind it is very real, a lot of work has been done in the background and very soon the public will hear and see more. NOW is the time,” Emmanuel said.

“Monday is an introduction of the NOW and an opportunity for the public to hear what we will be all about, in advance of party plans and manifesto. I want to meet with the people of St. Maarten, listen to them and tell that the NOW party is for doing, not dividing. We are inviting people of all political backgrounds and those looking for new, honest, straight-forward representation to join us on Monday,” he said.

The MP said he has a few giveaway surprises for those in attendance as basic “thank you” for devoting the time to attend. Persons will also have the opportunity to sign up as members of the party. “It will not be a very long program, it will be more about socializing and getting to know each other, before moving on to the congress a few weeks later.”
