Destination expected to receive major coverage from 13 international journalists who attended SXM Music Festival | SOUALIGA NEWSDAY

SINT MAARTEN (GREAT BAY) – The Sint Maarten Tourism Bureau (STB) expects major coverage from 13 international media reps who recently attended the concluded 3rdEdition of the SXM Music Festival, an electronic music festival geared towards lovers of electronic music.

Minister of Tourism & Economic Affairs Stuart Johnson is very pleased with the attention that the SXM Music Festival received from international media.

“The travel and music experience received by these international media reps will go a long way and should be very rewarding for the destination Sint Maarten/St. Martin.  

“This was a great opportunity to promote our destination experience internationally and we look forward to the fourth edition of the SXM Music Festival,” Minister of Tourism & Economic Affairs Stuart Johnson said on Tuesday.  

Claudia Arrindell and Marie-Line Andrew-Carty representatives of STB hosted the journalists as part of a press trip during the SXM Music Festival on Thursday March 14, 2019. The St. Martin Tourist Office also hosted the journalists on the French side.

“The group got an opportunity to take pictures at some of our beautiful beaches, their day also included stops at Toppers Rhum Distillery, Rainforest Adventures and Guavaberry Emporium, and lunch at Lazy Lizard on the board walk.

“They had a great time and enjoyed the tour very much.  They are looking forward to returning to our shores,” STB reps said.

The STB collaborated with the SXM Music Festival to host the Third Edition of the SXM Music Festival.

SXM Festival has furthered its reputation as a hub for the global electronic music community by involving some of the world’s most renowned party brands for this year’s edition.

“The travel trade media are key to destination promotion and their digital content will be viewed by potential travelers in all markets.  

“It was very important for us to connect with international media and influencers to get the word out that the destination is back and open for business,” said Interim Director of STB May-Ling Chun.
