DUTCH QUARTER – During controls the Sint Maarten Police Force arrested numerous persons with illegal drivers’ licenses, who were interrogated and fined. The detectives started an investigation into the origin of these illegal documents.
In the morning hours of Thursday, June 27th, 2019, suspect P.M.W., the owner of a driving school and residing in the “Zorg en Rust” neighbourhood in Dutch Quarter, was arrested by the detectives in connection with forgery of documents.
With the permission of the Judge of Instruction, and in the presence of the Public Prosecutor, the house of suspect P.M.W. was searched. An undisclosed amount of falsified documents and some data carriers were found and confiscated. The suspect remains under arrest pending further investigation. (Sint Maarten Police Force)
