FREEGAN FOUNDATION BRINGS PEOPLE TOGETHER WITH FREE COMMUNITY MORNINGS | Soualiganewsday

SINT MAARTEN (GREAT BAY) - FREEGAN foundation is inviting residents of St. Maarten to come together, meet new people and enjoy a relaxed morning at its FREEGAN Community Mornings, made possible with the support of Oranje Fonds and Stichting Kinderpostzegels.

The Community Mornings are designed to provide an informal and welcoming place where people can connect with others, enjoy a cup of coffee or tea, participate in activities, or simply spend some time in good company.

There is no complicated program and no obligation to participate in any activity. Visitors can play games, get creative with arts and crafts, help prepare food, have a conversation or simply sit down and enjoy being around others.

Coffee, tea, snacks and lunch are provided free of charge.

“We see every day how important human connection is. Sometimes people don’t need another appointment or another program. They simply need somewhere to go, someone to talk to and a place where they feel welcome. That is exactly what we want these mornings to be,” said FREEGAN foundation Managing Director DJ Jansen.

The Community Mornings are open to everyone. Participants do not have to be registered with any of FREEGAN’s other programs, and there is no need to sign up in advance.

The upcoming Community Mornings will take place on Thursdays from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM on:

September 3 and 24
October 8 and 29
November 12 and 26
December 10

All Community Mornings take place at FREEGAN HQ, Walter A. Nisbeth Road 89 in Philipsburg.

FREEGAN foundation hopes the initiative will not only provide an enjoyable morning but also help strengthen connections within the community and create a place where people from different backgrounds can meet one another in an informal setting.

“Come alone, bring a friend or bring your neighbor. Have some coffee, stay for lunch, join an activity or just have a chat. Everyone is welcome,” Jansen added.

The FREEGAN Community Mornings are made possible through the generous support of Oranje Fonds and Stichting Kinderpostzegels.

FREEGAN foundation works in St. Maarten to support families and individuals through food security programs, coaching, education and community-based initiatives, with a focus on dignity, empowerment and bringing people together.
