SINT MAARTEN (GREAT BAY) - On the recommendation of the Netherlands Minister Van Weel of Justice and Security, also on behalf of the Minister of Justice of Curaçao and the Minister of Justice of Sint Maarten, the Kingdom Council of Ministers in its meeting of Friday, August 28, 2026, has approved two appointments as Attorney General of Curaçao, Sint Maarten, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba.

Paulus is appointed Attorney General with his place of employment in Sint Maarten. Borst is appointed Attorney General based in Curaçao. The appointments take effect on the date of their swearing-in.

Paulus is currently working as an Attorney General at the Public Prosecutor's Office in The Hague, where she specializes in cybercrime.

Borst currently works at the Public Prosecutor's Office of Curaçao, Sint Maarten, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba as coordinating public prosecutor Central Team. The Central Team falls directly under the Attorney General of the Public Prosecution Service Carib, and focuses mainly on combating subversion and forms of corruption.
