SINT MAARTEN (GREAT BAY) - The Police Force of Sint Maarten (KPSM) is currently investigating a stabbing incident that occurred on Sunday, August 9, 2026, shortly after 6:00 a.m. on Bush Road, in the vicinity of a restaurant.

The KPSM Central Dispatch Center received several calls reporting that a stabbing had taken place in the area. Several patrol units, along with ambulance personnel, were immediately dispatched to the location.

Upon arrival, officers encountered a female victim who was suffering from several stab wounds to her upper body. The victim was attended to at the scene by ambulance personnel and subsequently transported to the Sint Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) for further medical treatment. At the time of transport, she was reported to be in serious condition.

A female suspect later appeared at the Philipsburg Police Station, where she was subsequently arrested. She remains in police custody pending further investigation.

The circumstances and motive surrounding the incident are currently unclear. Detectives of the KPSM are actively investigating the matter to establish the exact circumstances that led to the stabbing.

KPSM is appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have information that could help investigators to come forward.
