SINT MAARTEN (CUPECOY) - NV GEBE hereby informs the general public that there is currently an outage in the Cupecoy area (from The 14 to Sapphire Hotel) due to copper theft in the Cupecoy area.

“Our technical team is currently assessing the situation and working diligently to restore power by 6:00pm.

“NV GEBE strongly condemns these acts of theft and vandalism, which negatively impact our customers and the community and puts life at risk through electrocution.

“We apologize for the inconvenience caused and thank the public for their patience and understanding. Further updates will be provided as information becomes available,” NV GEBE said in a statement.
