SINT MAARTEN (CUL DE SAC) - The Methodist Agogic Centre – Comprehensive Secondary Education (MAC CSE) is celebrating one of its strongest academic years to date, following exceptional student performances in the June 2026 CXC CSEC examinations. The School Board and Management proudly recognize the dedication of our students, the tireless commitment of our teachers, and the unwavering support of our families who together made this year’s achievements possible.
This year, MAC CSE entered 22 subjects, and we are thrilled to announce that 13 of these subjects achieved a 100% pass rate (Grades I–III). These subjects are:
Biology, Chemistry, English A, English B, French, Information Technology, Music, Office Administration, Physical Education & Sport, Social Studies, Theatre Arts, Principles of Business, and Principles of Accounts.
These results reflect not only strong teaching but also consistent student performance across departments.
Other Outstanding Subject Performances
Beyond the subjects with perfect pass rates, several other areas demonstrated exceptional strength and deserve recognition:
*Human & Social Biology (HSB): 94%.
*Integrated Science: 83%.
*Geography: 75%.
*Spanish: 81%.
*Religious Education: 80%.
These subjects demonstrate that MAC CSE’s academic strength is broad and balanced, with students performing well across sciences, humanities, business, languages, and the arts.
Students Passing 8 or More Subjects Including English A & Mathematics
The School Board and Management also proudly recognize a distinguished group of students who successfully completed eight or more subjects, including the two core CSEC subjects: English A and Mathematics.
This achievement reflects exceptional discipline, academic strength, and the ability to manage a demanding academic load with maturity and resilience. Completing eight or more subjects — while ensuring strong performance in both English A and Mathematics — is a significant accomplishment that positions these students for future academic and professional opportunities.
Their success demonstrates not only mastery of individual subjects but also the ability to excel across multiple disciplines, reinforcing MAC CSE’s reputation for producing well‑rounded, high‑achieving learners.
A Journey of Excellence: Celebrating Rishi Rakesh Pokhriyal
Among this year’s outstanding achievements, one student stands out for his extraordinary accomplishment. Rishi Rakesh Pokhriyal earned Grade I in all seventeen subjects he sat—an achievement that places him among the top performers in the Caribbean.
Rishi’s journey with MAC began long before CSEC. He attended the Rev. J.A.G. Campus, where he graduated as the Grade 6 valedictorian, already demonstrating the discipline and academic promise that would follow him into secondary school. His excellence continued throughout his MAC journey, and in December 2023, he was named the Top Male Performer for the Region in the CXC‑CCSLC examinations.
His story is a powerful reflection of MAC’s philosophy: “from the cradle to the grave.” Rishi’s achievements show what is possible when a child is nurtured through every stage of learning within the MAC family.
Rishi shared his personal reflection on the journey:
“CSEC was a journey… Managing seventeen SBAs proved to be a bit of a challenge as deadlines approached; however, staying ahead of the curve allowed me to cross the finish line.”
His parents expressed deep pride and gratitude:
“We always tried our best to help him… Support didn’t always come in the form of academic help, for emotional and mental support were also equally important throughout his studies.”
They added a heartfelt message:
“A special thanks to the teachers who are the real backbone behind our son’s success. Their guidance and support made all the difference.”
A Community United in Achievement
The School Board and Management emphasize that this year’s success is not the result of individual effort alone—it is the product of a community working together. Teachers, parents, administrators, and students each played a vital role in shaping this remarkable outcome.
Looking Ahead
As MAC CSE celebrates this milestone year, the School Board and Management reaffirm their commitment to nurturing confident, capable learners who are prepared to lead, excel, and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
This year’s results remind us of what is possible when students are surrounded by adults who believe in them—teachers who guide them, parents who encourage them, and a school community that supports them every step of the way.
MAC CSE congratulates every student, every teacher, and every family. Together, we continue to uphold the MAC legacy of excellence, from the cradle to the grave.
