SINT MAARTEN (GREAT BAY) - MCB Group announces the upcoming retirement of Mrs. Daisy Tyrol-Carolus, Country Head of Windward Islands Bank (WIB) in St. Maarten, effective December 31, 2026, and the appointment of Mr. Camillo Bakhuis as her successor.

After many years of dedicated service within MCB Group, including her leadership of Windward Islands Bank in St. Maarten, Daisy will conclude a distinguished career with the Group. Throughout her career, she has made significant contributions to the organization, its people, and the communities it serves.

In her role as Country Head of WIB, Mrs. Tyrol-Carolus has demonstrated strong leadership, a deep understanding of the financial sector, and an unwavering commitment to customers, colleagues, and stakeholders. Her experience, dedication, and strong relationships within the St. Maarten community have contributed to the continued development of WIB and strengthened the foundation on which the Bank moves forward.

MCB Group extends its sincere appreciation to Mrs. Tyrol-Carolus for her years of service, her leadership, and the lasting contribution she has made across the Group and in St. Maarten.

Mr. Camillo Bakhuis will join WIB on November 1, 2026, as Country Head St. Maarten Designate, ahead of assuming the role following Mrs. Tyrol-Carolus’s retirement. Mr. Bakhuis brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in the Caribbean financial services sector, having held senior management and executive positions across operations, risk management, credit administration, and organizational development.

Having previously worked in St. Maarten, Mr. Bakhuis returns with an understanding of the local business environment and familiarity with the community. His extensive regional experience, strategic perspective, and broad background in banking and organizational development will be valuable as he takes on this leadership role.

MCB Group has every confidence that Mr. Bakhuis’s leadership capabilities, regional experience, and strategic perspective will help him transition successfully into his new role. The transition period will allow Mrs. Tyrol-Carolus and Mr. Bakhuis to work closely together, ensuring the continuity of leadership, the transfer of institutional knowledge, and the preservation of important relationships.

This planned succession reflects MCB Group's commitment to strong governance, thoughtful leadership, and the continued development of its operations across the region.
