MHF CONDUCTS CRISIS INTERVENTION WORKSHOP AT AUC | SOUALIGA NEWSDAY

SINT MAARTEN (CAY HILL) – The Mental Health Foundation (MHF) conducted its first Crisis Intervention workshop to 8 supervisory staff members at the American University of the Caribbean AUC.

Topics discussed included identifying symptoms of mental health, distinguishing signs of substance abuse, de-escalation techniques, assessing and reporting observations to the MHF Crisis Team.

Participants also shared their personal experiences having been in contact or seeing someone that suffers from mental illness. The goal of this workshop is to provide strategies, tools and increased knowledge related to mental health as it plays a crucial role inspiring hope, promoting safety and support recovery for all.
