SINT MAARTEN (PHILIPSBURG) - The Rotary Club of Sint Maarten-Mid Isle celebrated its 25th Anniversary on April 12th, during a special fellowship dinner at Mélange Restaurant.
The club was officially chartered on April 11, 1997, and started with twelve Active Members, who were led by President Willem Barendsen, Secretary Millicent De Weever and Treasurer Charles Davis.
Among the guests who attended the festivities were: District Governor 7020 Louis Wever and wife Amanda Wever, visiting Past District Governors 7680 Bob Wilson and Ineke Wilson, Honorary Members Dr. Sonia Swanston and Fred van der Peijl and furthermore, Members of the St. Dominic High School Interact Club.
Furthermore, Mid Isle welcomed a new member, Former Rotarian Nanik “Nick” Hemrajani. Nick sponsored by District Governor Louis Wever is a businessman. With this new addition, Mid Isle now consists of 21 Active Members and 6 Honorary Members. Welcome to our Mid Isle Family Rotarian Nick.
