SINT MAARTEN (GREAT BAY) - As a non-profit organization dedicated to education and to informing, the Sint Maarten Institute for Public Policy Studies (SIPPS) is embarking on a community awareness initiative centered around properly disposing of trash – “THERE IS A PLACE FOR TRASH”.

With November 11th being identified as Sint Maarten’s Day, we see no better date to launch this anti-littering campaign. The campaign aims to remind residents and tourists alike that each of us has a responsibility to dispose of waste properly and help preserve our island for future generations.

Unfortunately, an increasing amount of litter and improperly disposed waste is affecting our beaches, roadsides, parks, and public spaces. This not only harms our environment and wildlife but also diminishes the beauty and image of our island. This not only harms our environment and wildlife but also diminishes the beauty and image of our island.

The " THERE IS A PLACE FOR TRASH” campaign stickers can be placed on your gates, mailbox, trash can, vehicle, etc.

Please Don’t expect the government to dispose of our personal waste properly. Have pride in our community and environment.

We want to send a strong message that our community cares about protecting the environment and preserving the island we all cherish. Together, we can inspire positive changes, reduce littering, and create a cleaner, healthier, and more attractive island for everyone.

To learn more about the campaign and participate, please call (721) 526 – 5252 (also WhatsApp) or (721) 520 – 5752.
