SINT MAARTEN (SIMPSON BAY) - The Police Force of Sint Maarten (KPSM) is investigating a second shooting incident to occur on the island in less than 24 hours.
Shortly after 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2026, Central Police Dispatch received several calls reporting a shooting in the Simpson Bay area. Several police patrols and ambulance personnel were immediately dispatched to the location.
Upon arrival, officers encountered a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower body. The victim was provided with medical assistance at the scene before being transported by ambulance to the Sint Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) for further treatment.
At this time, the circumstances and details surrounding the shooting remain unclear. Detectives are actively investigating the incident.
