SINT MAARTEN (CAY HILL) - Last Sunday, residents of Beaver drive got together and took action to improve the condition of the unpaved section of their street. Fed up with the deteriorating condition of the street, particular when it rains and water settles and undermines the road; a small committee met and agreed to approach residents to pool funds for a worthy community initiative.
Linda & Frank Moise, Jovanie Stapleton, Carl Richardson, Juan Richardson and Rolando Tobias coordinated the project.
The works started early Sunday morning with a loader leveling the road followed by the compacting of the loose dirt to ensure long term viability of the street. Main coordinator Linda Moise indicated that the success of the road improvement initiative is a result of a public private partnership.
Residents and business owners on Beaver drive were willing to contribute to ensure the improvement of the street. She expressed appreciation to all those who contributed and realized an improved street for all who make use of it.
She also extended thanks to the committee members who took their time on a Sunday to coordinate the project.
