SINT MAARTEN (GREAT BAY) - The St. Maarten Entrepreneurship Development Center (SEDC) will launch AI for Small Business, a four-week training program designed to help local micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) build practical artificial intelligence skills, running October 19 to November 16, 2026, with sessions Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 7:00 - 9:00 PM. SEDC implements the program through the Ministry of TEATT, funded by TWO under the E6 Country Package managed by RVO.
SEDC has contracted the services of Ife Badejo to design and deliver AI for Small Business Program. Ife Badejo is one of Sint Maarten’s AI Ambassadors and Founder and CEO of Islandpreneur International. Badejo has trained more than 400 professionals in AI across the Caribbean over the past year as part of a decade-long body of entrepreneurship and AI education work in the region.
Over 12 sessions, no more than 20 business owners will move from identifying where AI fits in their business to building a working AI-powered workflow, an AI growth strategy, an AI policy, and a personalized 90-day implementation roadmap. The curriculum also includes dedicated instruction on data protection, privacy, and responsible AI use.
“Small business owners here are using AI, but most are not optimizing AI in such a way to drive business growth,” said Badejo. “This program gives them tools to do so, in four weeks, using their own business as the case study — not a generic course.”
Participants will leave the program with a live AI-powered workflow, an AI growth strategy and customer journey map, a simple AI policy, a personalized 90-Day AI Implementation Roadmap, a practical toolkit and resource guide, a peer network, and a Certificate of Completion.
